2011 / 2012 Nicki Minaj x Pink Fried Chicken Wing Necklace for Sale @ Onch Movement

Of course I stumble across this the same day I’m reading a Reddit thread of the most off-color, offensive jokes. Nicki Minaj is obviously trying to be innovative by wearing a piece of hot pink fried chicken as a necklace, but of course it’s incredibly uncomfortable due to the well-known stereotypes about black people and fried chicken. Which is probably the reaction she was going for?

The above photo is from her Twitter, but Nicki debuted the bizarre necklace at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas this weekend. That’s right—she’s so proud of this that she made sure that every single one of her followers could see it.

This isn’t the first time she’s courted stereotypes. Just last month, during a performance on Good Morning America, she chowed down on a fried turkey leg sprinkled with irony:

It’s unclear what the fried turkey actually represented; maybe her competition?

But we have to ask… Is the necklace edible?
