Cole informs listeners what he knows on “Cheer Up.” Scared by the words of his Mother that he heard as a child, he questions himself & the life that he felt he could not escape. Speaking not only to himself but a “little mama” that he would like to “Cheer Up,” he warns her to get her “a**” off twitter so she can be somebody. Using his newfound power to influence the life of another, J. Cole asks himself should he “blast” himself. J. Cole expresses that he feels like going “under” on “Cheer Up” as if that is all he knows while fighting to survive.
It is rumored that “Cheer Up” may be featured on J. Cole’s upcoming album. @stupiddope

@taletela This seems to be a daily occurence. Yet another J.Cole track has been leaked and this time it’s the piano-led ‘Cheer Up.’
The Roc Nation rapper delivers positive, motivational lyrics on the supposedly unfinished track, saying: “You say you’re looking for a man like you need somebody/get your ass off of Twitter, you could be somebody!”
But why are so many tracks getting ‘leaked’ at the moment? Perhaps it’s to keep fans happy, who have been desperately demanding a release date for his debut LP.
Nonetheless, we’re not bothered as we think J.Cole is just what the rap game needs right now.
