Well, it’s official: Lupe Fiasco is indeed releasing his previously canceled mixtape, Friend of the People, on Thanksgiving, aka Nov. 24. He just uploaded the first leak from the mixtape and, well, it’s probably not going to make his fans who weren’t digging Lasers particularly happy. “LightWork” features the Windy City rapper going in over Bessnectar’s remix of “Lights” by Ellie Goulding. In other words, it’s heavy on the electronic music tip and isn’t the more boom-bap-ish stuff some of his fans might have wanted. That doesn’t mean it’s not lyrical, though.
