Drake Releases ‘Marvins Room’ Twitter Fans React

MTV – Just one week shy of the 1-year anniversary for the release of his hugely successful debut album Thank Me Later, Canadian heartthrob and Young Money star rapper Drake has released to the public a new track “Marvins Room” via his October’s Very Own blog earlier this morning while also promising a release date for his sophomore album Take Care slated for a late October release.

“Marvins Room” is another signature take on Drake’s sing-rap style with atmospheric production, light drums and subtle keyboard work. Reminiscent of some of the slower jams from his popular mixtape So Far Gone and his debut LP, Drake continues in the vein of a tortured lover on the emotionally charged track. The song finds Drake playing the role of line stepper as he pines for a taken woman all while trying to gain her affections. Upon the song’s release this morning, the track has spread throughout the Web with fans commenting in droves.

On Twitter, fans had plenty to say about the Drake leak. “Okay…….. This New Drake “Marvins’s Room” Is Real. This Is Therapeutic Right Here. I Think All Of Us Have Been There, Or Almost Was….,” tweeted user SleepyWondah. An excited user @nigelevandennis added, “New Drake jam. Sooooooooooo good. This album is going to be quite the beast.”

The positive comments continued to flow from there, even from users who don’t consider themselves fans of the rapper. “I know im not a drake fan but marvins room is a banger,” tweeted @diggyftw. Fellow non-fan @BlkGrlsDontDate echoed that sentiment with, “Never been a Drake fan but I do like the tune enough to be interested in his follow up project.”

Drake also announced in the blog posting that the single will be available for purchase in July and that his album Take Care will see release on October 24, which also happens to be Drake’s birthday.
