Drake Talks About Relationship With Rihanna In New Interview
Oh to be young, rich and famous. Heartbreak doesn’t affect those with fat checking accounts, right? Now that Drake’s sophomore album Take Care has been pushed back to November 15, and most of the music promotion and gradual unveiling of his tracks done well before the original October 24 release date, he’s taken to divulging details from his personal life—in Elle no less. Guess we weren’t the only ones who noticed his sweaters—the most juicy being about the are-they-or-aren’t-they “relationship” with Rihanna. Drake says:
At the time it hurt, but she didn’t mean to. I’ll never put that on her. I was hurt because I slowly started to realize what it was. I guess I thought it was more. That was the first girl with any fame that paid me any mind. You spend days reading about this person in magazines. All of a sudden you have this number-one song and you’re at some birthday party and there she is. And you’re just some naive kid from Toronto staying in some shitty-ass hotel who got invited to this party on a whim. That’s just how it happened.
It’s too bad there’s not an outlet for him to get out all these feelings, huh? Yes the pinky ring-wearing Canadian is known for his sensitive side, but forgive us for being surprised at the number of details Aubrey provides about a “relationship” we were never aware was truly confirmed. It seems like whatever their brief fling was, it meant a lot more to him—a self-described “one woman kind of guy”—than it did to her. We knew there was more to those videos and on stage performances than just good acting.
He goes on to say much more on the subject of loneliness (drink), including how annoying it can be when girls send naked pictures his way. ”If you send them without me asking, it’s like, You’ve done this before,” he explained. But that can all change for the right girl. “If there’s a woman I’m into, I might want to get a picture from her to handle business myself, as opposed to doing something I might regret.” Also, it helps if said lady is willing to attend Passover dinner with his mom. Alas, don’t cry too much for Drizzy and his high standards. He’s scheduled to be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend, so hopefully the tears have tried and he’s brushed up on up his acting—then again, Sad Drake does make for good music.
